Where am I at? Or, more pertinently, where do I feel I'm at?
I feel Stalled. A drawn-out word that nicely matches my lack of momentum. An onomatopoeic of inertia. The project is in a quantum state - nominally ready-to-go, primed, worked out. Planned. Until I look into my Schrodinger money box and - nope, cat is dead, again. Money is not there. Film is not made. Career is still static. No money = no fuel in the car of production.
Each time I look into that money box I leave behind a qubit of passion, a merciless tiny tax on my creative energy. Open the box n times, over n amount of time and subtract 0.001. Repetition compounds the effect towards a negative result.
But
I'm not there yet. Stalled isn't stopped. It isn't "done". It isn't finished, finito, screw this. It's a lack of momentum, not the absence of an engine. A nearly empty fuel tank but the car still works, it can still drive. It can accelerate. She just needs gas, baby!
So
Look once more into the money box (ignore the dead cat). Pay the tax, it's really just part of the process. Creation is a two-way street. Spend some time inside your head and heart, find your want, your need and create something. Pour that into the tank, it's hi-octane fuel every time. Foot over clutch and hand on wheel and again, yet one more again, yet again in an endless stream of agains,
Turn the key
and GO.
